The Woodgate House
POEM, MUSIC, NARRATION AND BOOK BY GEORGE ECKHARDT
Renovating an Old Victorian House is quite a task, made even more demanding when unwanted critters inhabit the premises. This was my personal experience while working on a Long Branch, N.J house. A handyman special of titanic proportions requiring crews of workers to repair and various exterminators attempting to remove pests. This is the backdrop for my poem. I the owner, cast as totally frustrated - slow progress, mounting expenses, depleting funds and alone with only animals gnawing on one’s nerves.
